Hi friends, Happy Sunday! Now that Spooky and fall season is officially here, we can finally begin doing all the fall things we love! It’s time to start the festivities for the best season ever. I rounded up a small spooky list of ideas you need to do with your family this season! They are simple activities that can be done on any day of the week and bring so much joy to my family.
Visit a pumpkin patch

Hay Rides, pony rides, tractor rides, and lots of pumpkin picking! So much fun. We have a couple spots to choose from locally, but wherever you live, search some up in your area and make sure to pay them a visit. The whole family is sure to have fun, and pumpkin patches make for great photo opportunities!
Pumpkin decorating

Halloween wouldn’t be quite as fun without pumpkin decorating, right? This would be great to do after visiting the pumpkin patch! Pull out any arts and crafts you have at home or take a quick trip to your local craft store beforehand! Decorating is not as messy as pumpking carving, but if you’re up for carving, then by all means, go for it! Host a pumpkin decorating contest with your family, or choose a theme for the whole family to participate in. When you are done, line up all the pumpkins outside your house and admire your new outside décor!
Movie Night

Gather with your family around your living room, turn on the fireplace, and get comfy for some good, friendly, spooky movies. Don’t forget the popcorn! Here are some classics that we love to watch every year.
The Nightmare before Christmas
The book Of life
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Frankenweenie
The Haunted Mansion
Corpse Bride
Goosebumps
Harry Potter
Ghostbusters
Gremlins
Edward Scissorhands
Beetlejuice
Twilight Movies
The Goonies
Monster House
E.T
Coraline
Hocus Pocus
Stranger Things
Casper
1991 Adams Family

Family Fall Decorating Night

Make it fun! Plan a stay in the night where you have the kids help out most of the fall or Halloween decorations. Have them wear their favorite pajamas while they listen to a fun Halloween Playlist – think some Monster Mash. Why not make some hot chocolate and some easy fall snacks (think pumpkin flavored pretzels, orange, and brown colored M&Ms and some warm cookies.
Take a train ride

‘ Tis the season for a beautiful fall train ride. OK, this one is definitely on our fall bucket list for this year! How magical would it be to slow down a bit, take a train ride somewhere, and look out the window while we watch the cool crisp fall morning?. For our bucket list, we plan on going to Santa Barbara for the day and coming back that same evening. Consider even a relaxing day getaway for a few hours close to home in train. Train rides are affordable, and they usually have train rides back and forth throughout the day.
Have a backyard campout

Growing up, I remember my dad setting up a tent in our backyard, and we would camp out for the night and tell scary stories. It is by far one of the best memories I have of my childhood. Now that we are all grown up with kids of our own, dad does the same for them. He brings out the tent on random fall nights, the SMORES, and has them all huddled around the fireplace, telling stories for hours. It’s the most simplest closest to home way to camp out on any random weekend night, but it makes for the best memories with your little ones.

Thought I would share some of the ways we like to make memories this season. Hopefully, they can inspire your family to add some of ours to your own traditions. Let me know if you are excited to try any of them in the comments.
Happy Fall
