2026 Reset Guide

Hi friends, Happy New Year to you all! This is the time of the year when I outdo myself if im being honest. I bring out the vision board ideas, the new planners, I declutter, set new goals, look at past goals, and clean every corner of my house. I love a new year because it brings new beginnings, opportunities, and a whole new white canvas to paint your story again. There is nothing like a positive and clear mindset to welcome the new year.

I’ve put together a list of things that, as a mom, help me start the year less stressed and tackle the new year without feeling overwhelmed.

Social Clean up

  • Delete and cancel any apps/subscriptions that you haven’t used in the last months.
  • Unfollow any social pages or people that aren’t bringing you joy anymore.
  • Delete pictures that are just taking up space on your phone. Make room for more pictures! Back up any that haven’t been backed up. Even better, print out pictures!
  • Delete contacts of anyone you are no longer in contact with
  • Do a calendar clean up! Remove upcoming recurring events that no longer apply to you or alarms.

Home

  • Do a fridge and pantry clean up. Toss out any items that are expired or you don’t need anymore.
  • Toss out any appliances and utensils from your kitchen that no longer serve you a purpose or need replacing.
  • Closet clean out-Get rid of anything you haven’t worn in 6 months. Donate or throw away! If you haven’t worn it in that long, you probably won’t wear it anymore.
  • Go through junk drawers and toss manuals, cords, mail, or junk that are no longer used or needed.
  • Self care clean out: Toss out empty/expired lotions, makeup items, or skin care products
  • Space cleanup – Make your space clean and freshen up your home for a good everyday feeling. Do a deep clean to welcome the new year! Wash all your sheets, deep clean those bathrooms and that kitchen. Treat your home to a new rug, a new bed comforter, or a new plant!

Life planning

  • Get yourself a nice 2026 planner for goal planning, appointment, and event keeping. I use my phone calendar as well as my planner every day, and they are game changers for my routine. I love choosing cute ones that make me happy to see them every day. It makes a great time to plan vacations as well!
  • Vision boards are such a fun way to hold yourself accountable with your goals. It is a great way to see what you accomplished the year before or pick up where you left off and set new ones.
  • Update or create financial goals for the new year. I love this time of the year to look at budgeting, paying off debt faster, increasing savings, and increasing 401k contributions.

My hope is that you can take a couple of these reset tips for this first week of a new year!

Happy New years friends! Here’s to all of you accomplishing every single thing you set your mind to this year, no matter how big or small! Here’s to us moms showing up for ourselves, our kids, and our health every single day! May we continue to be the best version of ourselves!
