From Pond to Table: Day spent fishing with the family

Happy Thursday, friends! In a couple of my blogs from last year, I wrote about patience. I wrote about how important practicing patience has become to me in this chapter of life. I mention how gardening, cooking, and fishing all allow me to continue to learn patience and make me a better calmer person. To follow up with my goals, I have been joining my family on fishing trips over the past year.

Waiting for fish isn’t something I’m exactly good at, which is why I like coming out so much. It forces me to trust the process, and my kids get to see it, too. Growing up, my dad always took us fishing. He would fish at the lake while all of us kids would play at the playgrounds nearby. We would spend the whole day out there. We would have lunch, take naps on a picnic blanket laid out on the grass, and then go home at the end of a long, well spent day. Honestly, I can’t believe our kids get to experience a part of our childhood ❤️ If you’ve been wanting to take your kids fishing, I absolutely recommend it. There’s nothing like some quality family fishing time, and the plus side you get to cook your eat the  fresh fish that you catch! Scroll down for pictures of our fun and our yummy dinner.
