Wellness habits I’ve started as a busy mom who hasn’t had time to work out

Hi friends, Happy Tuesday ❤️  I have found myself in a busy season in life once again. My days are gone in the blink of an eye, and I find myself drained at the end of the day.  I am trying to be at multiple places at once and, unfortunately, have not been as active as I normally am. Between working all day, play rehearsal pickups, end of the year school events, homework time, family time, and bedtime routines- I am exhausted. I try my best to avoid “Mom burnout.” In times like these, running or working out is really important to me. It is my time to recharge and reconnect with myself. It allows me to find my peace if I may say so. While normally, skipping any kind of scheduled run or workout would have me feeling in a slump, I have been feeling quite good.  I do have some wellness habits I have added or changed in my lifestyle to thank for this

Here are a couple of things that, along with a balanced diet, good sleep, and the minimal movement, are keeping me healthy, in shape, and feeling good in the midst of all the before summer craziness.

I’ve been able to maintain my ideal weight in the middle of the chaos

Started drinking a cup of Bone broth in mornings

I knew bone broth was good for you, but I didn’t know that it was that GOOOOOD for you!  While it is now trending because of all the health-conscious peeps it’s totally been a thing dating back centuries. Can you believe hunters had to eat the bone broth to get the maximum benefits of their hunt?. Growing up, my dad always encouraged us to finish all our broth from our caldito de pollo, and he would say it had more nutritional benefits than the meat which is what we ate first LOL .  Dad would always tell us the story of how they used to eat broth growing up with veggies when they couldn’t afford meat, but it kept them full and content for the night. Bone broth promotes Gut and Digestive health (This is definitely right up in my healthy girl era lifestyle), Supports strong bones- (Runners need strong bones), supports skin, hair, and nails, better sleep and helps support intermittent fasting schedules, bloating and weight loss.

I have been using the brand Kettle and Fire

(I have found it at Vons and Target) Their broth promises to deliver the maximum health benefits for health reasons while other brands focus on the cooking benefits of it. You can 1000 percent make your own bone broth, and I am sure it is super easy and will save you money but for someone like me who does not have the time this is convenient.

They boil their bones for over 20 hours in broth before packaging

They Source their bones from US ranchers who raise their cattle humanely

They 100% certified grass fed and grass- finished cattle

They do not give their cattle routine antibiotics or hormones

No additives or preservatives in their broth

Bones are Super packed with protein, collage and amino acids

Replaced the everyday Soda

I’m loyal to no brand. I love all sparkling waters, but this one has been our office go to.

I am a coke girl. I used to love to have a coke every day with my lunches or dinner and sometimes both. Over the years, though, it’s been my goal to stop needing one every day. I’ve been so good at doing water or sparkling water lately with my meals. It makes me feel great afterward, minimize my bloating, and then, when I do have a soda, it feels like a treat! I also avoid the afternoon tiredness after drinking such a sugary drink.

Replaced extra coffee cups with teas

Night time Beverage bar-H20 and Glow tea

I’ve added tea to my days within the last 3 months. It’s a must! Normally, I would have 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day . One cup at home and 2 at work, but replacing my second or third cup of coffee with a green unsweetened tea has been better for me. I can get jittery with too much caffeine and this helps avoid that feeling.  Green tea has so many long-term benefits for your body, and it’s so calming. I’ve even added a Glow tea that has vitamins and Biotin in it.

Drink 1 cup before bedtime ❤️

Still taking Collagen daily

I’ve always credited my hair and nail growth to taking Collagen every day for years now. I love it. My morning coffee doesn’t take the same if I don’t add it ❤️. It’s not just my hair or nail growth I love from drinking it. It also makes my body feel strong even when I’m unable to squeeze in that workout, and my skin looks great, which is a plus that a good workout normally gives me.

Choosing healthier options for when I must eat out

10 minutes before my lunch was over, I was forced to grab something quick at a local fast food restaurant. I opted for a chicken Cantina bowl with rice and beans.
Orcutt Turkey Burger Protein style

I’m no longer a fan of eating out during the week. Not for my work lunch or for dinner. I do love eating out on the weekends, though. But in the case that I do have to eat out because I am caught up being busy ( as it was last week), I opt for healthier alternatives. It makes my eating out guilt a little less.
