If you’re currently feeling the holiday burn out, you are not alone. I stand with you. Between kids being on break, gift shopping, wrapping, fighting colds left and right, and trying to make everything magical; some of us are barely surviving. Gosh, it looked so easy when our parents pulled off all this holiday cheer when we were little. I don’t have any memories of mom almost losing her sanity like me. What I do remember; is my parents taking endless pictures of us under the tree, our home being loud and happy around this time and an exciting Christmas day filled with opening presents and some of the most delicious homemade food. It was pure chaos – wrapping paper everywhere and hours spent playing with the same toy – and it was magical. This is your reminder to breath; take it one step at a time and remember your kids are not going to remember the overwhelming hustle to this day, or how perfect their presents were wrapped, but the memories you make for them.

This Christmas, my wish for you is that this season brings gratitude, love, hope and joy to your home and those around you. I hope that this spirit of Christmas encourages you to celebrate and come together with those you love. I hope that you share laughter with those you love and that you are able to continue or start new traditions. I hope that your heart feels warm and your heart is full at the end of the night.
My wish for this new year coming is that your year has been everything you wished it to have been, and if it wasn’t may you realize you made it through despite what you had to overcome. If you are grieving, if you are feeling alone, if you are struggling, if the world feels cruel at the moment, remember god doesn’t ever give you any more than you can handle. Jesus is the reason for our season, and he is our light in those dark winter nights.
May we end this year being thankful for all it taught us and for what it gave us. May we ask for forgiveness and forgive. May we move forward from grudges and live a life of peace. May you continue to live a present life, a life with intention. May we realize that one day these will be the “ good ol days” .
Merry Christmas and Happy New Years
