Hi friends! Happy Saturday. I hope you all had a nice and well spent Easter/spring break with your families. This year, my family and I headed out to Guanajuato Mexico for our spring break with one goal in mind. Spend time with our loved ones. We try to go every year but didn’t get to make it last year, so it was a much anticipated trip for us. It was so nice to take a break from our busy schedules and non-stop routine for a few days and spend some good quality time together.
Red eye flight

We always fly the red eye out of Fresno airport and the best time to fly with little ones, in my opinion. It allows my children to nap on the way to the airport, stay up until it is time to board, and then fall asleep as soon as we take off. The airport isn’t too far from where we live and it’s a calm and quiet airport. Personally, I love a busy airport so I can get some people watching in, but as a mom with kids, I enjoy the quietness and non chaotic wait.

Our 7 days there
This year, we opted out of any tourist adventures while there since our trip wouldn’t be that long, but my hope is to go back within the year and travel in our Guanajuato cities.
Let me tell you, the days flew by in the blink of an eye. The first day was spent resting and recharging after our long trip there. I visited my grandmother and family on my dad’s side as they are only a couple of minutes away from where my husband’s home is.The rest of the days were spent non stop eating, enjoying late nights up, and taking part in our ranchito’s Easter festivities. Easter is my favorite time to go of the year as our little ranchito has their annual celebratory fiesta. It is a BIG celebration for our ranchito where the whole town participates in day long fiestas. A small fair comes out with rides for the full week along with food vendors, and the oids ride the rides nonstop! We love the rides as much as the kids do! Easter in Mexico for our family includes going to mass that afternoon, followed by enjoying Easter lunch back at home, and proceeded by walking to the middle of our ranchito in the evening. There, we get to dance to live music, the rides are open for the kids, and there is lots of chatting and meeting up with good friends and family. It is one of my favorite ways to spend Easter Sunday.
I always say this and will say it forever. If you have the opportunity to visit your roots, where your parents grew up and where they came from, continue to visit. Continue to gift your children that opportunity to visit family so they never forget their language, their people, and they never stop appreciating that part of their grandparents upbringing.
Enjoy a small scrapbook of our vacation ❤️
