Crossing a HUGE item off my bucket list

26.2—–> Let’s goooooo ❤️

Hi friends, Happy Monday and happy end of month. I hope this month was nothing short of blessings for you. I want to share a very cool and meaningful thing that I recently did and share how important it was to me. Recently, I crossed off a HUGE item off my bucket list, and I am here to tell you all about how incredibly awesome it feels and why I will always cheer for us moms to never give up on dream and goals we have.

In the summer of 2023, I wrote a blog post about how important it was to me to still have a bucket list in life and how as moms it’s so important to still have one. I am going to leave it down below if you did not get a chance to read it! In my post, I wrote about how my grampa’s sudden unexpected passing left me to reflect on my own life. I wrote about how his passing made me realize that life just goes by so fast and how fragile it can be. It can be so easy get lost in the never ending, “Life hustle” and the always planning ahead mentality. I can be guilty of this sometimes and over the past years it has been my goal to slow down and take in all the moments and memories we have and get to make with those around us.

Two weeks ago, I was able to cross a big and very important item off my bucket list! I ran the Los Angeles Marathon.  26.2 fun and emotional miles were ran, and I took in every mile to the last second. No miles were left behind. I walked out of that Marathon feeling like a badass person, a badass mom, and just so empowered, knowing I can do anything I set my mind to. There is no feeling like showing your kids what you have worked so hard for and been able to complete successfully.

First time at Dodgers Stadium

While this may be a small achievement to someone who has run many marathons or maybe someone who has been in shape for all their lives, to me, it is the complete opposite. As someone who in high school dreaded physical education and who would rather pass out than ever think of running a mile, It’s a BIG goal checked off. As a mom of three who goes from morning out the door chaos every day, to spending 8 hours working for a corporate company, who then goes to her unpaid shift at home after work, finding time for my own hobbies and accomplishing my own dreams as well is what makes me a better mom.

While I can’t stop obsessing my marathon and just how proud I am for running it, I want to continue to encourage everyone out there who thinks they can’t do something to know they can. I want to encourage all moms and tell you, “You don’t have to lose yourself in motherhood. Finding what you love, what you’re passionate about, and continuing to pursue it or work towards it is even going to make you a better mom. It has nothing to do with running a marathon. I am talking about anything you have ever wanted to do in life. I am talking start your dream business, take those art classes, grow that garden, take those Pilate classes you’ve been wanting to start. And my favorite – start running if that’s been your goal!

We show up for our kids and our family and everyone else who needs us, so let’s never stop showing up for ourselves as well

  1. I don’t view ‘running a marathon’ as a small achievement. BRAVO! You can be so proud of yourself!!! Thank you so much for the inspiration. I began running a little while ago, and what you did is currently one of the biggest goals on my list. Again, CONGRATS!
