Hi everyone, TGIF! I hope everyone had jad a great week. This week was jam packed with end of school activities, my kid’s last days of school, missing half my family that traveled out of the country, and my oldest daughter having her first driving test – SHE PASSED! It felt like I never got a chance to catch my breath. What is even crazier is how fast it flew by and left. With all the emotional bittersweet moments this week brought, it also brought a small little personal accomplishment for me.

After many years of wanting to plan one, I hosted my first run! If you have been reading my blogs, you know that I started running 6 years ago, and I have not stopped talking about it since. I talk about it like I won a million bucks. I write about how much it has improved my quality of life, how it has taught me to be disciplined in everything I do, and how much better I am able to handle the craziness life can bring. The list goes on and on about how much running has impacted my life for the better.

Every year, I set a small running goal that I want to accomplish, and there was a certain goal that I never put on my vision board for fear of not following through. That goal was to bring people together for one day to run and have a good time motivating each other and just encouraging us all to meet other runners. I had had Global Running as a date set in my mind for the last two years, and this year, I made it happen. I posted on my social media and asked friends to spread the word. We met at a local trail that is known to be a local Central Coast favorite for outdoor movement. We met 15 minutes before our race started and had a very good warm-up before our run, followed by a quick introduction of everyone. The views were so pretty the whole way, and this trail was honestly just a perfect trail for us. From the start of our run to the end, we averaged 4.5 miles, and honestly, we did amazing. I am so proud of all of us for finishing and being each other’s cheerleaders the whole way. It made my heart so happy to see all the people who showed up as equally excited as I was and supported me! I am going to say it was a very successful run, and my hope is that I can host another one soon.

Whether we have been running for years or months or a few weeks ,we are all runners and part of one of the most supportive, inclusive communities ever – the running community. We all run miles for a reason- our mental health, for clarity, stress relief, alone time, in honor of family member, for ourselves, for our physical journey and we are stronger when we run together.
Thank you to all who took time out of their day to come join this run . Let me know in the comments if you are a solo or group runner.
