Stars and Stripes, Burgers and Rum Watermelon Jello

Cervantes FamilyMissing Julieta and Diego

This past weekend, our family got together and celebrated the Fourth of July. If you didn’t know from my previous posts, our family loves spending time together any chance we get. We are a family big on tradition, and family time is very important to us. In a way, spending time together is how we pass on our stories to our younger generations, how we learn from them, and how we continue to make memories, and pass down those same traditions we love. You see, in our family, we celebrate everything from birthdays, achievements, holidays, and even just a coming together for dinner is a celebration to us.

Fourth of July continues to be one of my favorite holidays of all time. There is something so special to me about lighting up the grill on a nice summer day, eating some good food, and, of course, ending the night with some fireworks. I am blessed that my family is so big that there is always chaos going on, kids running around, dogs chasing kids, and we make a good time in no time. This past weekend, we were 19 gathering together. That is not counting my cousins who got there later that night, or my aunt and grampa who didn’t make it.  This year, our country turned 250, and we had to go a little more out for the country that I love.

Here is a small photo recap of the great time spent together  ❤️
