Hi friends! I hope everyone had a nice weekend and is having a great week so far. Mine has been flying by, and although we’re currently in a heat wave here in California, the heat hasn’t gotten the best of me yet. Quite honestly, I have been enjoying the warmer temperature. It is perfect for outdoor walks and runs.
I get asked a lot what working from home looks like for me, and I wanted to give you a glimpse at what it looks like as a working mom who loves to work and also prioritize a healthy work life balance. I want to say that working from home takes a lot of discipline and planning ahead so that your day can go smoothly and be stress free. It starts a day before with small things like having water bottles filled, backpacks ready, outfits chosen, and snacks packed! This is my secret for success.
My schedule for the week is planned ahead in 3 different places, so I always have it in sight. I have my personal daily schedule on my agenda, my phone calander with alarms, and my whiteboard that is set out for everyone to view. I also have a daily work schedule. This allows me to fully focus on work during work time and know exactly what I need to do before work, during breaks, during lunch, and after work commitments. I usually always have booked breaks and lunches and stay busy after work as well. I love that working from home allows me to be more present with my family. It allows me to be flexible with scheduling doctors, dentists, and any other appointments for myself or the family. I am able to cut the commuting time and save sick time or vacation time. I am able to do drop-offs and pickups every day, attend school events, and be able to work when my children are sick or need to stay home. That, to me, means a lot. I don’t take my job for granted at all, and I am grateful to be able to do something I love.
6:30 Wake up time

First things first. Coffee. I try to use this time to tidy up my house if it needs it, run a load of laundry, or water my plants. At 7 am, I start doing my hair and makeup. I love to do my hair and makeup whether I am working from home or going to the office. Look good to feel good sets the tone for my days.
7:30 -7:45 AM

Get the kids up and ready for their day!
8:30- 8:40 am
Head out for drop offs!

9:00 am – Clock in for work

Every day looks different, but I love to dive right into work every morning and go over my work schedule for the day after a busy mom life morning shift.
11 am to Noon

I take my first 15-minute break at this time to move my body and go on a walk. Whether I am working from home or the office, I try never to skip a walk. It is good for my body and good for my mind. I return with a small mental reset. By this time, I have already had snacks or a small breakfast.
Noon to 1:30
More meetings, paperwork, calls, or training! I love my job so much, and every day is different but busy!
Around almost 2 pm

I take my 30-minute lunch at this time to pick up my son from kindergarten. It really does take almost my full 30-minute lunch, so I try to have lunch before or ready for when I get back. If I have a longer lunch or I don’t need to pick up my son, I use this time for a lunchtime run.
4pm to 5:30

Around this time, I take my afternoon break and start wrapping up my work day and am ready to continue my mom evening shift at home. I am usually already thinking of being ready for a good after work run or have a plan of what I need to do that evening.

This pretty much sums up my work from home days on a normal week! I hope that this inspires you to be excited about a successful work from home schedule as I always am! Do you work from home, and if so, what is your favorite thing about it?
Thank you for reading, and have a wonderful weekend ❤️
